Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. (Proverbs 16:20)
The book of proverbs is one of practical wisdom and here is a verse that speaks of heeding instruction. There’s so much of instruction going on in the Christian world and new believers are often confused as to what is right and what is wrong. The best way to know is by checking the Word of God and still if one is confused, wait at the feet of the Lord for Him to guide us in the right path.
We read in the Psalms;
Who, then, is the man that fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him. (Psalm 25:12)
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. (Psalm 32:8)
If one is a seeker of the truth, the “Spirit of truth” will guide us in all the truth. When you are confused and seek the Lord with all your heart regarding a certain matter, He will reveal the truth to you.
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you. (John 16:13-15)
God may send someone to you and speak about your “topic of confusion” without you even asking that person. The truth may be revealed to you from a book that you accidentally read and God will confirm it through various sources. If you are his child, He will guide you in the right path.
His promise, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you” stays true even to this day and it will forever.
